Longhorns Fans Already Pasadena Bound
Posted by Jimmy Atkinson
We're still more than a month away from December 4, when the BCS selections are made. Try telling that to the Texas Longhorn faithful, who are already planning their trips to the Rose Bowl on January 4. Every single Southwest Airlines flight from Austin to Los Angeles on January 3 and from Los Angeles to Austin on January 5 are already sold out. Similar round trips from Austin to Burbank are also already gone.

What a crock of cow dung! Only because flights to California are sold out doesn't mean we Longhorns are predicting us to be in the National Championship. What an insult. Who ever wrote this is a moron. We aren't conceded like your rubber trojans. It takes a Long-Horn to break a Trojan.

Victor,
First of all, don't ever mistake me for a Trojan. I am a Golden Domer and grew up a UCLA fan. There is no one who would like to see USC go down in the regular season more than me.
That aside, I think the fact that the flights are sold out proves exactly that you Longhorn fans are predicting a Rose Bowl berth. Flights on other dates are still open. But flights the day before and the day after the Rose Bowl are all booked. If that's not a Rose Bowl prediction, I don't know what is. I don't think it's an insult to point this out. It's the truth. Longhorn fans are very confident that their team will be in Pasadena on January 4. Is it overconfidence? We'll find out when the season ends. If not, then it's just good planning. I did predict last week that the Longhorns would be Rose Bowl bound. If I were a 'Horn, I might be looking at flights, too.

I am a longhorn fan, but if Texas plays USC like they did A&M, they will be run out of the Rose Bowl and back to Austin at the speed of light. Texas might have a chance if God is a longhorn fan or if the Dallas Cowboys take pity on them and help them prepare for a war the Longhorns have never faced.
